Los Angeles Department of Transportation Announces Downtown Street Closures and DASH Rerouting, St. Patrick's Day Parade Mon., March 17, 2008
LOS ANGELES (March 10, 2008) - The City of Los Angeles Department of Transportation (LADOT) announced a temporary re-route of DASH Downtown Route D for the St. Patrick's Day Parade, scheduled for Monday, March 17, 2008 between the hours of 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM (approximately). Main Street between Arcadia and 5th Streets will be closed for the Parade. Regular service on DASH Route D will resume once the streets are re-opened after the Parade.
DASH Downtown Route D passengers who normally use bus stops located on Main Street at either 4th Street or 5th Street can board at the 6th Street and Main Street bus stop.
DASH Downtown Route D passengers who normally use bus stops located on Main Street at either 1st Street or 3rd Street can board at the temporary stop which will be located on Los Angeles Street at 2nd Street.
"Please plan ahead" advises Rita L. Robinson, LADOT General Manager. "A lot of people will be out on City streets to enjoy the parade. Be sure to drive carefully and 'Watch the Road" she added. None of the DASH Downtown Route D stops on Main Street between Arcadia and 5th Streets will be served during the Parade and resulting street closure.
In addition, LADOT cautions that from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM, DASH Downtown Routes A and B and the City Hall Shuttle may be affected by congestion from the street closures and passengers should expect delays on these routes as well. LADOT advises passengers to plan their trips acoordingly.
